
Gale was 18 when she was crowned the winner of a modeling contest at the age of 18 in Perth. After modelling for a few years, Gale became famous in 1999, when she was chosen to appear in an advertising campaign by Omnitel later Vodafone Italy. She appeared in their advertisements until 2006. Also, she was tapped with the Australian Tourist Commission in 2003 to be their 'face of Australia in Italy'. Gale has appeared on the covers of Australian Marie Claire Grazia Gioia Italian Maxim Australian InStyle, Australian Marie Claire, Italian GQ and Australian GQ and also in Vogue Italia and Australian Cosmopolitan editorials. Gale has modeled on runways for Italian fashion houses like Gianfranco Ferre, Genny, Gai Mattiolo and runway work for Mariella Burani as well as Angelo Marani at Milan Fashion Week. Gale is also a fan of many Australian fashion designers, including Colette Dinnigan, Kirrily Johnston, Lisa Ho, Willow and Alex Perry. She served as the fashion advisor for Australia's television awards in the year 2006 (the Logies). Gale declared in January 2008 she would retire from modeling runways following 15 successful years. In the following weeks, at the launch of the David Jones winter collection in Sydney, Gale walked for her last time on the catwalk. Her final outfit was the Wonder Woman outfit she was to wear in the unreleased motion picture Justice League of America. Gale ended the Alex Perry 2011 Melbourne Fashion Festival in March of 2011. Gale celebrated her 10th year anniversary at David Jones in August 2011 The longest contract in fashion that an Australian has ever had. Gale joined Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez as an ambassador of L'Oreal Paris in the same month. Gale was in commercials to promote L'Oreal in Australia as well as New Zealand. She also made appearances in Italy.
